Graphic Novice Comic Book Podcast
A sometimes misinformed, sometimes shockingly informed, weekly discussion of all things that are even vaguely related to the world of comics. Each episode we review current releases, discuss issues relevant to reading and collecting comic books and mix in a healthy dose of comical off-topic banter. You can reach us at email@graphicnovice.com, or come check out the various other sources of propaganda we offer at http://www.graphicnovice.com.
014 - Coffee & Comics: A Very Special Graphic Novice Engagment

Join the cast of Graphic Novice for a cup of coffee and an english muffin, as we spend the early hours of an otherwise tranquil Easter morning discussing the past week in comics.  After slapping on some fluffy bunny slippers, congratulating ourselves for sneaking onto the Musings of A Geek Podcast network and sending some holiday greetings to our friends, we embark on the slowest "Rapid-Fire Review" segment to date.  This week's books include Batman #30, Batman Eternal #2, Harley Quinn #5, Amazing X-Men #6, Hulk #1, Nova #16, Superior Spider-Man #31, Uncanny X-Men #20, Wolverine #4, Wolverine and the X-Men #3, X-Force #3, X-Men #13, and Bad Ass #4.  As a tribute to the "My Little Pony" segment that was postponed, Doc challenges the guys to a game of X-Men or Race-Horse before going over next week's books and retiring back to bed for a few hours.  All this and a little table top gaming talk, some game of thrones discussion, and a video game challenge that Nickel has no intention of living up to.  More comics, slightly less profanity...  This could be your new favorite episode mom!

013 - Wizard World: Doc & VF's Erotic Adventure

After a brief but unfortunately necessary absence, the Graphic Novice Comic Book podcast returns, making their debut as a part of the Musings of a Geek network.  Doc’s out of rehab, VF’s out of jail, and everyone is ready to talk about some comics.  Friend of the show (and our vote for the world’s greatest Batman artist), Greg Capullo, sets the tone with the intro clip, and the guys do their best to live up to his expectations by keeping things as sexy as possible.  We tackle two weeks' worth of comics in Rapid-Fire Review this episode and discuss Wynter #1, Captain America #19, Grindhouse #7, Detective Comics #30, Black Science #5, Pretty Deadly #5, Inhuman #1, Magneto #2, Moon Knight #2, Punisher #4, She-Hulk #3, Starlight #2, Lumberjanes #1, East of West #11, All-New Doop #1, All-New Ghost Rider #2, Batman Eternal #1, All-New X-Factor #6, All-New X-Men #25, Daredevil #1.50, Iron Fist The Living Weapon #1, Deadpool #27, Nightcrawler #1 and Peter Panzerfaust #18.  The long list of unrapidly reviewed comics gets broken up with a few sordid tales of a comic book convention and two young men who lose their innocence, but find each other (in a mostly heterosexual manner).  Tune in for the 10 seconds of Capullo, and stick around for the 2 hours 31 minutes and 54 seconds of Graphic Novice.

012 - In Contempt: Spotlight on The Trial of Jean Grey

More X-books!  Here at Graphic Novice we know how hard it is to get a good X-Men fix these days, so we've dedicated a good portion of this episode to reviewing the recent crossover between the All-New X-Men and the Guardians of the Galaxy.  Not to worry though, we wouldn't start our feature without warming everyone up first.  Doc shares some stories from campus, we offer some comic book speculation advice and send our condolences to the Graphic Novice band front-man after he gets his whip impounded (it's a mini-van).  We also thank the boys at the Green Up! Podcast for a review of the Witcher franchise, discuss our Top 5 comic book storylines as a tribute to The History of Bad Ideas Podcast, and thank New Worlds Comics for preview copies of Wynter #1 and Goof #1.  The slowest "Rapid-Fire Review" in the comic podcasting business then covers: The Bunker #2, Hacktivist #3, All-Star Western #29, Sandman Overture #2, Wraith Welcome To Christmasland #5, Alex + Ada #5, Deadly Class #3, Fatale #21, All-New Ghost Rider #1, Amazing X-Men #5, Hawkeye #18, Origin II #4, Silver Surfer #1, Superior Spider-Man #30, Uncanny Avengers #18, and Thaniel #1.  After naming our best and worst books of the week, we finally discuss and review the "Trial of Jean Grey" and VF finally admits to owning several pair of Rocket Racoon underwear.  With the 2-hour mark looming, we quickly list the new releases for the coming week and call it a night.  If you like stuff, this might just be the episode for you!  (Anyone still hoping to hear the next installments of Back-Issue Review please send request emails with the subject line: Doc Thirst is a Jerk.)
