Graphic Novice Comic Book Podcast
A sometimes misinformed, sometimes shockingly informed, weekly discussion of all things that are even vaguely related to the world of comics. Each episode we review current releases, discuss issues relevant to reading and collecting comic books and mix in a healthy dose of comical off-topic banter. You can reach us at email@graphicnovice.com, or come check out the various other sources of propaganda we offer at http://www.graphicnovice.com.

Comic book fans looking for an eloquant, well informed, and well-spoken podcast episode, focusing on the previous week in comics, can send us an email and we'll point you in the right direction.  Episode 11 of the Graphic Novice Comic Book Podcast cannot claim to be eloquant, but if you enjoy your comic reviews with a sack of affordable beers, a box of really cheap wine, and some baked beans, you've come to the right place.  After some random chatter and a few quick shout-outs to the only people on the internet who will still talk to us, we work our way through the ironically named "Rapid-Fire Review" segment, where we discuss Dead Body Road #2, Harley Quinn #4, The Fuse #2, Lazarus #7, Sex Criminals #5, Daredevil #1, Nova #15, Uncanny X-Men #19, Winter Soldier #2, Wolverine and the X-Men #2, and X-Men #12.  We conclude the segment with our votes for best and worst books of the week, then turn our focus to an in-depth review of the first four books of the Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth series.  We finish up with a look at the pending week of comic releases, and wrap it all up after a solid 2 hours and 10 minutes of bridled comic book enthusiasm.

Episode 10 features nearly 3 hours of spicy Graphic Novice goodness.  After some quick shout-outs and a little bit of comic "news", we embark on our slowest "Rapid-Fire Review" segment yet, which flows almost seamlessly into the featured interview and a spotlight on My Little Pony.  Newly appointed Equestria correspondent, Brunellus, educates us on Bronies, Ponies, and the adrenaline filled world of competition knitting.  My Little Pony, East of West #10, and Batman #29 get some love, X-Force and X-Factor take some heat, and the guys hotly contest the merits of Hawkeye #17.  Critics are referring to this as the longest Graphic Novice episode to date and they're absolutely correct.

After establishing our prolific breakdancing history, we offer our sincere thanks to Green Up, Brian Kearns, The History of Bad Ideas podcast, Brian Fietsam and Doc's Mom.  We then move on to the meat and potatoes of Episode 9 by slowly and casually making our way through a ”Rapid-Fire” Review of last week’s comics, and our first installment of Super-Easy Graphic Novice Comic Book Trivia.  Our books of the week segment focuses on the Jennifer Blood series and Moon Knight #1.  We finish things off by rushing through a quick look at the books coming out on March 12, and discussing what we have planned for our nest few episodes.  Early reviews have beamed "its probably not their worst episode".

008 - Comics, Kids, Androids and Skrulls

Over 10 hours of raw audio trimmed and crimped into an airtight action-packed 2-hour episode. The show's first guest following the "All-New Graphic Novice Now" re-launch is Michael Whitehead, founder of the Comics for Kids initiative. Our thanks to Michael for slumming around with us long enough to tell us what his organization is all about and share some fantastic stories.  We bookend the episode with Rapid Fire Review and the Books of the Week segments.  Black Science, D4VE, and All-Star Western get some love in the Rapid Fire review, and we dig deep into Alex + Ada and The original Fantastic Four #2 from 1962 during Books of the Week.  Don’t miss out on the episode Doc's mom has referred to as an "emotional roller-coaster ride through the sociological fabric of the world we live in".
